Content & procedure of a "German for the job" course
Assessment of language skills
Before the start of the course, a placement test is usually carried out to determine the participant's current language level. This helps to place the participant in the appropriate course.
Course content
The course itself focuses on both general German language skills and job-specific vocabulary. This includes specialised terms for certain industries, understanding employment contracts, job application training and intercultural skills.
Course duration
Vocational language courses last several months.
Teaching times
Courses at inlingua Rostock usually take place on weekdays from 9 am to 1.15 pm and 2 pm to 6.15 pm.
Exam & Certificate
At the end of the course, participants take an exam (DTB - Deutsch Test Beruf), which confirms the language level they have achieved. After successfully completing the exam, participants receive a certificate confirming their new language level.
What does a professional language course cost?
Participation is free of charge in most cases. The exception: If the taxable annual income is over 20,000 euros, the participant pays a cost contribution of 2.42 euros per teaching unit (as of July 2023). This payment can also be made by the employer. Important: If the examination is successfully completed, 50% of the costs can be reimbursed.
